I knew this wedding stationery design was going to be one of my favourites when I first heard what the bride had in mind. The wedding had an easy bohemian vibe and was set on the beach at The Chedi Muscat, Oman. The wedding was relaxed and personal, and the couple wanted the wedding stationery to reflect that too. There was no formal invite, but Kimberley and Christoper wanted all of their guests to have a letter pressed agenda of the day and as a lovely ‘Thank you’, they drew up a Love Manifesto for each of their lucky guests. The On- the- day stationery suite featured quotes, that were chosen by the couple to remind guests to loosen up and have fun at their casual and intimate gathering. Watery shades of blue and a playful, almost neon shade of Coral was a perfect compliment to their sunset ceremony and reception.
Their story:
Kimberly Christiansen and Christopher Forest had eloped and had an intimate wedding with just the two of them in New York. But, of course, they couldn’t contain their joy and decided to do it all over again, and this time share it with their families and their closest friends in the Middle East.
The wedding story:
They chose the beautiful Chedi, Muscat Oman. The perfect location for a beach-side, fuss free wedding. The guests had a ball of a time from the moment the landed at the beautiful resort. The ceremony was held under a canopy on the beach with the reception outdoors in the sand under the stars. Shoes optional! The wedding went off without a hitch even with the threatening storm, which made for magnificent wedding pictures, captured by Jonas Peterson
Their Pret a Papier story:
Opting for cooler colors that emulate the surrounding like a soft grey, light blue, corals or beige are great ways to style their stationery for an ocean front wedding.
Kim and Chris had family and friends travelling from all over the world for this destination wedding and they wanted everybody to know how the day was planned; but still keep it very casual. For their letter press wedding agenda we chose grey and an almost neon shade of coral. It playfully reflected the humorous and easy going nature of the couple, with inside jokes and witty directions for the guests to loosen up and feel the love. I love how even their loyal pets were included, making sure they weren’t forgotten on their special day. The ‘Love Manifesto’ was placed on everyone’s plate. The place cards were simply elegant with just the first names of all the guests.
The couple wanted their guests to take it easy and chill out, and insisted on leaving out the stuffiness and fluff associated with traditional weddings, so we chose reminder quotes to be placed all around the venue, at cocktail tables and snack bars.
Custom Fishes wedding Monogram:
I designed a special monogram of two fishes, getting “hooked” on a treble hook. The fishes had to have their own identities and patterns to depict how they are very similar yet their own people. The monogram was used on the agenda, the love manifesto, order of ceremony, seating plan and menu cards.

Thinking of having a beach wedding like Kim + Chris?
For a totally gorgeous, pin-worthy beach wedding, try these 5 tips:
- Pick a dress that suits your venue. For the beach, something easy, breezy and flowy is better than a Cinderella ballgown better suited for a polished floors.
- Go easy on the hair. If you still want a more formal dress, ditch the formal updo and embrace some natural, loose waves.
- Choose more casual attire for your bridal party; think shorter dresses for the ladies and consider going barefoot!
- Don’t make your groomsmen wear stuffy tuxedos; shorts and button ups, linen pants and cream-colored suits look quite dapper, too.
- Incorporate nature into your stationery and decor! Avoid cliche seashells and use sea glass. Driftwood, coral and sea-colored accessories all make beautiful beach wedding décor.
